Chita Happenings

While Pam and I have been in America this summer, communication with our Chita home has been limited. Lucya, who works intimately with us and is currently in St. Petersburg, Russia, has been regularly speaking with the girls in our home in Chita. We have another new girl staying there! Her name is Lena and is a lot like Tooyana, who was extremely withdrawn and beaten down. We are VERY excited to meet her soon! Please keep Lena and all of our girls in your prayers, including Zhenya, Tooyana, Ayoona, and Lena (yes, there are 2 Lenas now).

Natalya, the retired school teacher who is currently running our Chita home, has struggled with the responsibilities that our home there requires. Our church has become more involved and has been helping a little bit. As I write this newsletter, our girls are currently at the summer camp that our church sponsors. But when they return from camp, a young lady who sometimes helps us named Sasha (affectionately known as “Sunshine”) will be staying with Natalya and the girls…this should help to relieve some of the pressure. We had also discussed the possibility of Pam returning to Chita early in order to relieve Natalya. We have decided that Pam will not return early, and she and I will return home to Chita together. Please keep our Chita team in your constant prayers.
